Watermelon Lime Dessert

This simple dessert recipe made with heart-healthy watermelon can be enjoyed by kids young and old at your next summer party. It’s easy to prepare, fun to eat, and packed with all kinds of nutritional goodness. Serves 4.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 large slice of watermelon about 1.5 inches thick
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Zest of 1 lime

Recipe Directions

  1. Cut watermelon slice into a square shape, removing rind.
  2. With a long knife, cut into four rows each way, yielding 16 pieces. Place on platter.
  3. Grate lime zest over watermelon, then refrigerate.
  4. Just before serving, squeeze lime juice all over the watermelon pieces.  4 pieces per serving.
Per serving: 48 calories, 1g protein, 11g carbohydrate, 1g fat, 0 g sat fat, 0 g mono fat, 0mg cholesterol, 1g fiber, 3mg sodium

      Yes, you can even use your cocktail or cake forks so everyone can dig in to the same dish!

      In terms of slurping, I always have make sure to whirl it up for the Popsicles for the grandkids. No sugar added.
